My Response to Sophie Calle's work

My Response Plan

To respond to the work of Sophie Calle, I intend to take and edit photos in Photoshop.

My work will link to my artist because I will also project an image onto my model and use similar lighting.

I will need one of my LGBTQ+ friends as a model because representation is super important.

The equipment I need will be a ringlight, handheld DSLR camera and a projector to get the right kind of lighting and be able to take the photos from lots of different angles.

I need to take my photos with a plain background so that it is easier for the projected image will show up better.

I will include the compositional rules and formal elements of colour and tone and light.

This will link to my theme by sending the message of kindness and inclusivity.

My Three Photoshop Edits

To edit my photo of my friend Abi I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and turned the brightness up and contrast down to give it a softer look. Then I cropped the image to remove the space around where the projection was. After that I finished up with the dodge and burn tools to put in some shadows and highlights.

To edit the next photo I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and use the brightness/contrast feature to up the brightness and lower the contrast. I then used the dodge and burn tools add highlights and shadows to her face and surroundings .

For the final photo, I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and increased the brightness and decreased the contrast. I used the burn and dodge tools to add shadows and highlights. Then I cropped the image so that the bottom of her eye wasn't in the frame of the photo.

I think the first edit is the best one as the colours really pop well and it looks the most alike to the artist's photo.
