Development Three

My Plan

Within my development I hope to...

1. combine influences from each of my 3 chosen artists

2. make sure my work is about my theme

3. include my own research and ideas

My last try at this is in Development 3. I will create a short film where my model smears face paint of the bisexual flag whilst there is a projection of a quote on him

The music I will use is Sweater Weather by the Neighbourhood as it is widely regarded as a song that represents bisexuality and my model will have the bisexual flag on his face. I would like to try to make the film look old and worn using old paper photos from Google because I think it gives a cool effect to photos and videos and it shows that queer people have existed for centuries.

Taking my Photos/Footage

In this filmshoot I intend to...

I will need my brother to model because he himself is bisexual so he is very easy to use for my project.

I will need two DSLR cameras to take the film and some photos and a projector so that I can put a message onto him. I will also need a tripod to hold the camera that will be taking the film as it is steadier than my hands.

I do not need a specific location to take my film but I will need to take it on a plain (white) background so that the projection shows up the best it can.

My Outcome

To edit my film of my model I opened it in Premier Pro and imported the clips I wanted to use. I then shortened them to a length that I was happy with. I added a photo of old paper with the opacity turned down as I wanted the film to feel like it was from a while ago. I played around with the colour settings until I found one that I felt matched the vibe of the video. Finally, I added 'Sweater Weather' by The Neighborhood as I feel like that song is a bi anthem..

Review

How has it gone? I think it has gone pretty well!

What are you pleased about? I am happy with the editing of the film and I think the old vibe is really cool. I think the Freddie (model) did a great job of smearing the paint too.

In my next Development

To make my next development work even better I need to:

Keep doing: Telling the models what to do.

Do less of: Taking long to paint the flags, edit etc.

Do more of: Picking better music (I think I should've gone for a Queen song instead or something like that.
