Development One
My Plan
Within my development I hope to...
1. combine influences from each of my 3 chosen artists
2. make sure my work is about my theme
3. include my own research and ideas
My first try at this is in Development 1. I will create
a series of photo's using circle mirrors reflecting dramatic landscapes

Taking my Photos
In this Photoshoot I intend to use shapes contrasting colours and negative space to create a ethereal, dystopian aesthetic.
I need a circular mirror in order to mimic my second artist, a camera to take the photo's and to take my photos at a specific location; around Birmingham preferably of cool architecture and scenic places like library of Birmingham and parks, clock towers.
What compositional rules or formal elements are you intending on using when taking your photos?
Negative space, form and shape.
Contact Sheet of the Raw, Unedited Photos I will use

My Outcome

To edit my photo of a scenic reflection I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and began by turning up the vibrance and saturation to create a dramatic scene and mimick my artists use of vibrant colours in his work. I then used the sharpen tool in the reflection and the dodge tool to lighten both the reflectipon and specific areas of the photo to increase the quality and create a sharper aesthetic
To edit my photo of a dramatic scene I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and started by adjusting the vibrance and contrast as i do with the rest of my photos in order to increase its quality. I proceeded to ad another photo i took in an attempt to combine my artsists through their use of shapes. In this case i did this by layering and cropping my second photo into the reflection. After a few adjustments i cropped the photo and edited the background to black and white.
To edit my photo of a dramatic skycape I opened it in Adobe Photoshop, i began by increasing vibrance and contrast. I teh created a seperate layer with reflection so i was able to individually owrk on increasing ints vibrance and enhancing its colours whilkst darkening the background to draw the viewers attention to the mirror.
Review
How has it gone? i think i could've made the photos look a lot smoother and higher quality.
What are you pleased about?
I like the variety of aesthetics i created. Although you may not see it at first but in the second photo the background is of a broken window and is in black and white in order to contrast it with the reflection of a canal in selly oak. I chose to do this to reflect the diversity of Birmingham. Although this photo presents my area in a negative way so in the third photo i wanted to show the beauty in the place i call home.
In my next Development
To make my next development work even better I need to:
Keep doing: Using contrasting images to reflect my theme of home
Do less of: choppy editing, strays from the artists, lack in quality
Do more of: Using more shapes, colours, variety of techniques
