Development Two

My Plan

Within my development I hope to...

1. combine influences from each of my 3 chosen artists

2. make sure my work is about my theme

3. include my own research and ideas

My first try at this is in Development 2. I will create a short film feauturing a combination of videos and photos with transition synced to the music

Taking my Footage

In this Filmshoot I intend to capture a series of time-lapses of skyscapes and landscapes.

I will need a Tripod for the timelapse, a circular mirror to mimic my artist, and a DSLR camera. In order to incorporate my artists use of shapes I want to use a Ferris wheel in the background.

What compositional rules or formal elements are you intending on using when taking your photos? I'll be using framing and shapes - the mirror, the Ferris wheel, the window frames.

My Outcome

To edit my film of a time-lapse I opened it in Premier Pro and once my music was applied and the audio of the clips muted, I sped up my clips by 500% to create the time-lapse effect.

I added a black shape and masked around the edges to hide the plug in the wall in the original photo, so it didn't distract from the composition, as I wanted to create a cleaner, smoother scene. I adjusted the layer's saturation and hue using keyframes throughout the duration of the video to match the different lighting conditions and make the mask look as seamless as possible.

I continued to create various colour adjustments to mimic the artists use of vibrant and dramatic aesthetics in the work. To wrap up I ensured my music synced to the music by adjusting the length.

How has it gone?

i think it went well!! im specifically proud of how the end product of the timelapse went but i think the editing couldve been more creative

What are you pleased about?

I love how i was able to incorporate the shapes and mirror used by magnani complimented by the colours and vibrant atmosphere

In my next Development

To make my next development work even better I need to:

Keep doing: use of shapes, use of reflections

Do less of: I want to sync the clips to the music better

Do more of: more colours and dramatic scenes. I want to add in more clips, and use a wider variety of content.
