My Response to laurent kronentals's work
My Response Plan

To respond to the work of Laurent Kronenetal, I intend to take and edit photos in Photoshop
My work will link to my artist because I will also use shapes such as circles and use windows as my main subject
I will need to find some circular windows and objects.
The equipment I need will be a tripod to keep the circles centred. I will need to find circular or rectangular windows with negative space around it to take photos of.
I will include the compositional rules and formal elements of negative space and contrast
This will link to my theme I'm going to take photos of places in Birmingham.

My Three Photoshop Edits

To edit my photo of a window I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and created layers using the elliptical marquee tool. By doing this i was able to enhance the vibrance of the circle in order to mimic Kronental's use of shapes, i also used the burn and sponge tool on the outside of the circle to contrast it to to the brightness of the inside. This in order to mimic Kronental's use of negative space and framing his views in his work
To edit the second photo I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and enhanced the colours and vibrance to the photo to add a nostalgic and magical feel to the image. I then removed the unwanted things on the window to create an even more professional image using the stamp tool. Then I added finishing touches by slightly lowering the brightness to create a atmosphere of nostalgia.
For the final photo, I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and
enhanced by splitting it into layers and lowering the exposure and increasing the contrast on the outer layer in order to create stronger shadows and draw focus to the circler window which i further enhance by increasing its saturation, vibrance and brightness
i believe the last one is the most successful as it best mimics Kronental's use of shapes specifically windows swell as his use of contrast and negative space
WWW- i think the editing particularly carried this artist, especially in relation to my previous artist, the more balanced editing made for more ethereal and engaging photo, exploring a different side to my interpretation of home
EBI- this photoshoot was particularly difficult as it required circular/specifically shaped windows in order to relate to my artist, which i struggled with. So in the first photo i edited it in line with the frame pf the window at the library of Birmingham to mimic the circular look as best as popular as possible. The third photo is the closest to the artists as it mimic the circular windows used by Kronental . The photos link to home as their taken at places I've associated with home, the first being at a library in the heart of my city a big part of my definition of home, the second being in my own bedroom and the last within star city, a attraction in Birmingham filled with childhood memories. All of these are almost entirely ambiguous to an outside perspective from simply looking at the photo, making this a lot more explicit going forward is vital.
