My Response to Alberto seveso's work
My Response Plan
To respond to the work of Alberto Seveso, I intend to take and edit photos in Photoshop
My work will link to my artist because I will also take pictures pictures of two different coloured paints mixed together.
I will need different paints, a clear water box and ring and box lights. I have chosen these because Alberto takes pictures of different colours of paint diffusing together so I will need a box so I can fill it with water for the ink. I will also need a plain background so I will use a thick piece of paper or cardboard so that my camera only focuses on the ink and not other objects that might be in the background.
The equipment I need will be DSLR Camera to get close up by zooming in and to change the camera setting like the shutter speed and ISO setting. I will use Studio Lighting so that picture is well lit.
I will include the compositional rules of contrast Between Subject and Background and the Formal Elements of Negative Space, Focus, Texture, Colour.
This will link to my theme of strange and fantastical as the different ways the the two colours fuse together makes the image very eccentric and unique hence gathering the viewer's attention.

My Three Photoshop Edits/ My Edited Film Response

To edit my first photo , I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and I cropped the picture so that the focal point of the work was the paint itself and so that I didn't have as much negative space. Next, I clicked on filter and camera raw filter to change the brightness and saturation of the image to replicate the look of it being taken with a flash and to make the image less dull. In addition it helped to ensure that the colours of the paint look rich and vibrant which is a vital part of the style of my photographer. I increased the texture and sharpness so that the viewer can see the details of the paint which helps to visually describe the soft feel of it.
To edit my second photo, I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and I cropped the picture so that the paint was centralized and it gathered the attention of the viewer. Next, I clicked on filter and camera raw filter to change the brightness and saturation of the image to make the image less boring and gloomy. In addition it helped to make the colours bolder, like my photographer does.I increased the texture and sharpness so that the viewer can see the delicate aspects of the paint which helps to display the smoothness of the paint gently diffusing together.
For the third paint photo, I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and I cropped the picture so the image was focused on the paint and it led the viewer's eye to it. Next, I clicked on filter and camera raw filter to change the vibrance and contrast of the image to emphasize the different colours, like my photographer does.
I think my second paint edit was the most successful as the theme of strange and fantastical is demonstrated well by the distinctive shape and texture that fills the frame. For example, the colours perfectly compliment eachother, bringing out the radiance of each colour. In addition, the gentle manner in which the colours fuse together is very calming for the viewer. These methods work excellently to create an optimistic mood which effectively represents Seveso's peaceful image.
