My Plan
Taking my Photos/Footage
In this Photo I intend to take a picture of a person's hand holding a red apple to represent the poison apple from Snow White.
For my Filmshoot, I will use white paint flowing in a water tank so I can edit it green because the green paint represents the poison from the magic potion.
I will need white paint, a clear water box and ring and box lights. I will also need a plain black background. I will use a thick piece of paper or cardboard so that my camera only focuses on the ink and not other objects that might be in the background.
The equipment I need will be DSLR Camera to get close up by zooming in and to change the camera setting like the shutter speed and ISO setting. I will use Studio Lighting so that picture and video is well lit.
I will include the compositional rules of contrast Between Subject and Background and the Formal Elements of Focus, Texture and Colour.

My Outcome
To edit my photo of the hand I opened it in Adobe Photoshop I used the magic wand tool to remove the original background of the subject to apply a gradient background that adds colour and more of a unusual aspect to the image. Then I used the eclipse tool to create eclipses at different parts of the hand which was then filled it with green gradient colour using the gradient fill tool. I have demonstrated the formal element of colour because the vibrant green of the eclipses makes the picture colourful that makes a bold statement and creates contrast with the hand and the apple hence directing the viewer's attention to the subject. I also added text to the sides of the image is something Magdiel usually uses in his pieces and it perfectly creates a poster effect.
To edit my video of the paint I opened it Premiere Pro to change the colour of the paint to green by changing the midtones , highlights, shadows and tint to green to represent the green poison from Snow white linking to the wicked and fantastical sense of fairy tales. I did this as I was really inspired by Taylor Swift's lyrical videos from her album lover. The movement of pink clouds in the background added a dreamy aspect to her videos and it inspired me to capture videos of moving paint linking to how Alberto captures pictures of moving paint.
Review
I think my composition is effective because I have taken a video of paint floating in a water tank demonstrating texture replicating how Seveso takes pictures of movement of paint. I edited the colour of the paint in Premiere Pro to green which conveyed the message of my theme because the green paint represents jealousy and greed which links to our reality as they are emotions that are very common.
In addition, I have successfully edited in Photoshop to add more colour by adding gradient backgrounds and gradient shapes with vivid colours to increase the liveliness of the image and create a cheerful tone as gradients are often used by Magdiel. This relates to my theme of strange and fantastical because the distinctive ways in which I have used colour and manipulated the hand adds an element of strange quirkiness, thereby attracting the viewer's attention replicating Magdiel's creative and playful editing style.
In my next Development
To make my next development work even better I need to:
Keep doing: Animations of paint.
Do less of: I need to think more about colour and using more complimentary colours.
Do more of: Implement Jessica's fashion photography into my work.
