Study of Digital Artist four

Introduction

I have chosen to study the photographer Peter Grego
I have chosen them because I really like how he uniquely presents his heritage,
Analysing 1 of their pieces of work:
The subject matter of the work to the right depicts a guy painting his face with the two countries he is from and wiping away the paint and taking pictures between these hand movements.
Any other information about the work that is important?

Grego has paid particular attention to framing in the photograph as the portrait fills up the majority of the frame with a plain background.
Mood:
I think the work feels calm yet sentimental. The artist has created this by representing his background heritage and is showing a deep message behind his picture of culture and identity.

Technical analysis:

I think that this work was probably taken using a camera or any normal phone.
The artist has used studio lighting. The image is well-lit throughout .
Do you think the work has been edited in Photoshop/Premier Pro? If so, how have they edited it and why? i think premier pro has been used to create a collage of the images.

In this work, the camera has been focused on the entire image is in focus as it is a portrait of someone.
The artist has used a medium aperture to create a clear focus on the full image. short Depth of Field. I can tell this because the image is close up to the persons face.
What kind of effect does this have? Where does it draw the viewer's eye to examine all of the boys face.
I can tell that [Grego] has also used a fast Shutter Speed because the image is in focus without motion blurring.
It would have been best for them to use a big ISO like [1000] to make this work because light would be needed to brighten up the image.

Intent:

From looking at it, I think the work is about representation and identity .
Researching Grego’s work, I have found that they made this work to Focus on tensions arising between concepts of individual identities.

How will you be influenced by this artist’s work when planning and taking your own photos? What about their work are you going to try and replicate in your own?
I am going to take pictures of my identity and my country that i am from.
