My Response to Siemer's work
My Response Plan
To respond to the work of Siemer, I intend to take and edit photos in Photoshop
My work will link to my artist because I will also use landscapes with distortions and reflections using shapes.
I will need to use outdoor landscapes both of urban and rural areas as my photographer does so.
The equipment I need will be a camera and I won't need lightings as I will use the natural light and use photoshop to make adjustments.
I will include the compositional rules and formal elements of negative space sing the sky, colour and balance to make my photo look concise.
My theme is home and is aimed at highlighting how home doesn't need to be a physical place; it is something that we can find comfort in including ourselves. I choose this artist to oppose this and show the beauty of physical landscapes as a representation of something we could possibly discover within us.

My Three Photoshop Edits

To edit my photo I began by opening it in Adobe Photoshop. There were cranes in the back of my photo which I wanted to remove which I did by using the patch tool and then the paint brush tool to create a serial looking sky. I used the elliptical marquee tool to select the are I wanted to copy and past into another layer. I then rotated this to create the sense of a reflection and then using a large sized soft round eraser I began to erase the bottom of the circle in order to blend the two parts of the image.
For this photo I wanted to add a blue tint to complement the idea of the ice and the water. similarly to the first photo I used a marquee tool this time rectangular I order to create the original rectangle in the photo. I adjusted the brightness and contrast differently than how I did the background. I then went on to create a triangle on a new layer to create the shape at the top.
To begin editing this photo I adjusted I used the elliptical marquee tool over the mountains again creating the send of the reflection. I then repeated these steps using different parts of the sunset to create threee different circle reflections
