My Final Outcome

In my Final Outcome I have been inspired by Lindsay Adler, Sophie Calle and Laura Estrada. I really admire how Adler incorporates many different colours to create different atmospheres throughout the image. I also like how Calle uses a projecting device to cast her salient messages onto her models, this is an enthralling technique as you can project any quote or phrase you wish. I used this technique to project some quotes to do with your own 'identity', which links to my overall theme of 'Home'.  Moreover, I adore how Estrada uses her own jewellery pieces in her photography to showcase and promote her work. I produced my own adornments using malleable wires and placed them onto my model to replicate this artist. I want to be able to show identity through different perspectives, for example expressing oneself through jewellery and clothing, also using different phrases to convey varied messages that link to our 'identity'. Identity itself means is who you are, the way you think about yourself, the way you are viewed by the world and the characteristics that define you.

To edit my photos I used Adobe Photoshop and first cropped all my images down to eliminate any negative space and make the image more centralised. I then adjusted the brightness and contrast to lighten the image. I then increased the saturation to bring out some of the colours in my image and make them more vivid. Then, I increased the vibrancy of the image to brighten the image further to match my artists. On the other hand, for some images I decreased the saturation completely to create a black and white effect- which resembles Sophie Calle. I also uses the blur tool to eliminate any parts of the image which were not up to scratch.

I have been really pleased with the way I edited all of my images, I am also really content with the way my physical piece came out and how I constructed it from scratch.
