Development Two
My Plan
My first try at this is in Development 3. I will create a series of three edited photos and make them all 'Strange and Fantastical'. I am using Ansel Adams and Suzzane Sarrof and some Victoria Siemer composition ideas to create this type of surreal imagery, combining them to make strange situations.
Taking my Photos
I do not need any models or people as this is mostly my own images of landscape photography.
I will need a Camera to take my photos of the landscapes (or use my previously taken photos) and a tripod to decrease the movement of the camera. I have chosen this because it is similar to my photography and my artists photography.
I will need to take my photos in a wide landscape possibly with mountains or hills. And if I use my previously taken photos they will also be of mountains and landscapes.
I will be using the compositional rule of filling the frame, rule of thirds and leading lines. I will be using the formal elements of texture, colour and form , using these to match my theme and fitting into my development.

My Outcome

To edit my first development image I opened the landscape image into photoshop and used the circular marquee tool to draw a circle and copied it, then I pasted it into the image with the fruits. I then adjusted the size of the circular section of the photo to fit into the glass ball in the fruit image.
Because it did not fit exactly within the glass ball I used the brush tool to get rid of the edges and make the transition into the edges smoother. Another tool I used to help with this was the blur tool, it made the edges smoother and less harsh which made the whole photo generally look better. Then finally adjusting the brightness and contrast to make different colours more accented.
To edit my second photo I did the exact same thing as the first drawing a circle on the landscape image then copying and pasting it onto the fruit image. Adjusting the size of the pasted landscape image to fit into the glass ball in the fruit image. Then using the brush tool to smoothen the edges around the glass ball and make it look more realistic.
To edit my final development image I did the exact same as the previous few. Using the circular marquee tool, copying and pasting it onto the other fruit image. And then finally using the brush tool and blur tool to blend the images and make them look more realistic.
Review
How has it gone?
I think it has gone well and it does include my theme of 'strange and fantastical' and artists quite well. And the photoshopping is quite good.
What are you pleased about?
I am pleased with the mix of the artists and the composition of the different images. And the inclusion of my theme 'Strange and Fantastical'.
In my next Development
To make my next development work even better I need to:
Include my other photographer very clearly and precisely. Maybe try and not include so much photoshop unless it helps with my theme and incorporating different photographers.
Keep doing:
keep taking photos that are similar to my artists and theme, so I can have better finished products.
Do less of:
Using the same photos trying to take more new ones and a variation of them.
Do more of:
Linking my artists and theme, and making them 'match' and 'go together'.
