Development One
My Plan

My Outcomes

Editing Process:
To edit this photo I began editing the brightness and contrast as the lighting I used created a fairly dark photo. I then created a mask of the vogue lettering and then created another layer to add this onto my photo. I then began adding different pieces of text changing the text and formatting of them to replicate a real vogue cover.

I think that the two tone shadow that was created by the lighting reflects the skills that I learnt when studying Nick Fancher. However if I were to improve this piece, I would have made sure that more light was directed at Jess’s face in order to make the reflection stand out even more.

Editing Process:
As I used normal studio lighting when taking this photo, I didn’t need to edit the brightness and contrast but I did crop the photo so the only textures and background that could be seen are the black background as well as the mirrors. I then created a mask of the vogue lettering and imported this onto my image along with adding the all important text.

I think that the way the mirrors split Luke’s face elevates this piece massively. If I were to improve this piece I would reduce the reflection of light that can be seen on the top section of his face.

For my final edit of development 1, I used the same photoshop steps I used previously. I edited the brightness and contrast as well as the vibrance and saturation of the original image, then I created a mask of the vogue lettering and imported it onto the image. To finish the edit I then added the other text.

I think that edit three incorporates the mirrors but also the lighting that explored in the other two edits and brings them together. If I were to improve this piece I would use a range of differently shaped mirrors.
