Development Two
My Plan
For my second development I will take inspiration from Carli Ihde, Agnes Grochulska, Sophie Calle and Juca Maximo. I will be didgitally painting a nd creating a rotoscope for my second development which allows me to take inspiration fro Agnes Grochulska’s style and Carli Ihde's form. I will be incorporating Juca Maximo in my work through the use of darker colours and scribbles across the forehead to express hidden emotions while using bright colours(like Agnes Grochulska) to represent the more neutral/happier emotion. I will also include an outline to frame my subject and consequently draw the viewer's attention to the facial expression of the subject. I will have words displayed in the background of my work to highlight the hidden/true emtions of my subject, hence taking inspiration from Sophie Calle.
To complete my second development I will be using Photoshop to draw over each frame and I will then use Premier Pro to join the rotoscope and text into one video.

Ruff Mercy and Rupi Kaur study
For my second development I hope to portray my theme of Emotional Expression and artists' influence even more. Because of this I have chosen to display a poem by Rupi Kaur as her poetry focuses on the expression of emotions through words and poetry. I think this fits really well with my project so I decided to focus on her poem 'Community' from her 'The Sun And Her Flowers' collection. The poem talks about expressing our emotions and the fact that it is okay not to be okay and to ask for help.

In addition to this I like the way Ruff Mercy presents the text on his work as the glitches add to the aesthetic of his work, creating a raw and edgy feel. I would like to combine his and Sophie Calle's methods to portray words, specifically the poem, in my own work.

On the left I have attached a Ruff Mercy video that caught my attention and that led me to further research him and his work. I find the way the words come in and out of the video fascinating and how they add a certain flow and movement to the entire piece. In my second development I want to portray the poem experimenting with different fonts and text styles.
