My Response to Mawson's Work

My Response Plan:

To respond to the work of Mawson, I intend to take photos and edit them in photoshop.

My work will link to my artist because I will also use the same techniques along with shutter speed and aperture.

I will need a set of syringes to recreate the same effect Mawson has throughout his range of work. I will need a set of ink/paint to inject into the water and to take the pictures. I will require blue and yellow paint (acrylic) to create my representation of Mawson's work

The equipment I need will be a DSLR Camera, tripod, macro lens. I have chosen these pieces of equipment because they are vital in recreating the style of Mawson's work. Using this, I will have a steady image, and a nice zoomed-in shot.

I will include the compositional rules and formal elements of contrast, symmetry, focus, negative space and shape and form.

This will link to my theme by showing the movement of liquids like paint and and ink in water, furthermore replicating the vision of Mark Mawson's photography.

My Three Photoshop Edits

To edit my photo of ___ I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and [What Photoshop tools did you use and why? E.g. I cropped it so that the focal point of the work was the chips themselves and so that I didn't have as much negative space. I then increased the saturation and vibrance to bring out the yellows in the chips and the colours in the burger, in the style of my photographer. I increased the brightness and contrast of the image as well to replicate the look of it being taken with a flash. I then added noise to give it a grainy, film-like look to make it feel more nostalgic.]

To edit the ___ photo I opened it in Adobe Photoshop and [What Photoshop tools did you use and why? E.g.  I cropped it so that the teapot was centralised and I increased the vibrance and saturation to make the colours bolder, like my photographer does.]
