Personal Response: Time

I was really pleased with the oil painting I produced during the painting workshop we did in class (inspired by Rogier Willems) so I chose to pursue this medium for my Personal Response. I took a studio portrait using coloured gels to emphasise the colour of my model's hair and then created a double exposure image in Photoshop. I included images I'd taken of dead flowers inspired by Karl Blossfeldt's work, to show a contrast of life and death, and the impact of time on both people and nature.

I was pleased with the detail on the face of my portrait but moving forward I'd like to focus more on the detail of the hair and the clothing.
