Krita

Krita is a 2D Art software that's free and excellent for drawing, animation, and digital painting.

It can be downloaded for Mac and Windows from here: https://krita.org/en/

This is a fantastic guide on how to use the Krita animation set up:

Using Krita for Rotoscoping:

As Krita is pretty similar to Photoshop, you can follow the Photoshop Rotoscoping Tutorial that can be found at: https://gcsephoto.wixsite.com/website/copy-of-sebi-s-footage-1

to help you create a Rotoscoped Animation.

Unfortunately, unlike Photoshop. you can't import video frames directly into Krita to create a rotoscope with, but you can import still video frames as JPEG's instead.

So, if you want to rotoscope on a video, you'll need to convert it. This can be done by uploading your video to: https://www.onlineconverter.com/video-to-jpg and downloading all the frames as JPEG's.

Then in Krita, go to File > Import Animation Frames and select the JPEG files to import them so that you can draw on top of them following
