THE CONTEXT OF MY PROJECT

The purpose of my project is to look at the contrast in the differences between being home and being away from that safe, familiar space on holiday. The world is vast and almost endless, filled with incredible adventures and opportunities and I would like to use Photography to contrast this with the quiet, safe nature of my home in Norfolk.

I will be influenced by Martin Parr as I intend to show conventionally British objects and scenes to tie the project into the sense of home and where I come from. I also intend to contrast this with non-British objects and scenes to provide a juxtaposition between the two realities. I will also be influenced by Parr's choices of compositions and bold, bright colours.

I would like to edit my photos using Adobe Photoshop in the style of Victoria Siemer, using geometric shapes like circles and squares to highlight important or outstanding features of the photography.

The influence of Laurent Kronental's windows has led toward using framing in my photography.

From these influences and ideas, I'd like to create photo merges where the viewer gets to look through a little, classically English window or frame out at a geometrically surreal, pieced-together view of places I've been on holiday.

I'd like to photograph places at Sunrise or Sunset to bring in the kind of colours Kronental and Siemer use in their work.
